Burning Hotdogs and Making Contacts

About 14 people joined West Valley Amateur Radio Club at Church Camp Road Recreation Area on Saturday, October 24, for a Parks on the Air outing. With radios set up at park US-13337, the group enjoyed burning hotdogs and making contacts.

Adam, N7XAK, reported that the group operated on 17 meters because of contest activity on 20 meters. The change of bands kept the focus on getting on the air and enjoying a day at the park together.

The outing also gave Technician-class members an opportunity to get on the air at the NY7S club station. Alongside the contacts, there was time to visit, share a meal, and enjoy the company of fellow club members.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make it an enjoyable club outing, and to John, AA1SQ, and Josh, KE7WIL, for sharing photos from the day.
